Introducing Hydrosols in Lavender and Rose

With the upcoming launch of our MELANGE Apothecary category, I am most excited that we will be offering Hydrosols in Lavender and Rose.  Also referred to as plant waters, true hydrosols are the byproduct of essential oil distillation.  During this process, Lavender, Rose and other plants are blended with water or steam. Upon completion, two important things occur.  One is the byproduct of distillation that we know as essential oils.  They are oil-like, concentrated and very strong.  The second is the remaining water, which contains the wonderful therapeutic properties of the plant in a milder form.  This is hydrosol.  We do not add alcohol to our hydrosols, they are completely natural.

There are several ways to use this all-natural spray as part of your everyday routine.  Many use hydrosols as they would use a toner, applied after cleansing to help restore a healthy PH to the skin.   I like to spritz it on my face and neck before I apply moisturizer or facial oil, and hydrosols work well to set makeup.  Use hydrosols in place of water for a masque base (I add Rose hydrosol to my clay masque) and spritz a tiny amount on pillow prior to bed for a calming sensory treat.
